Zone 1 Information

Zone 1 represents coldest climate on the map. Plants must be extremely hardy to survive in this short growing season. Fairbanks, Alaska and Resolute, Northwest Territories, Canada are two areas in this zone. Temperatures in Zone 1 average a minimum of minus 50 degrees Fahrenheit or minus 46 degrees Celsius. The cold nights are long and daylight is limited during the very short summer season.
